WMS Staff Ms. Hartman Caught Being Awesome

Summary: Congratulations to Ms. Hartman.

Whitman Middle School Staff Nominated For Above & Beyond!

We asked the community to submit a nomination for a Whitman Staffer who they felt has made Whitman a better place to be. This could be a staff member who is widely known, or someone behind the scenes. They could’ve done something to shine in one small moment, or continued to impress all year long. Anything goes! The winner each month is surprised with a trophy and celebrated at an upcoming School Assembly.

Caught Being Awesome January 2026

Ms. Hartman. Text: Caught Being Awesome

Caught Being Awesome: Ms. Hartman: This month we recognize someone that is admired by her peers. Over and over her fellow staff members describe her as an advocate for everyone in the building. She cares deeply about Whitman and works tirelessly to ensure all staff feel supported and heard.

This Wildcat stepped up to organize support for advisory so that it will become successful for everyone. She is a fierce advocate for inclusion and for her students so that they thrive at Whitman.

Let’s give a hand to this Wildcat Wonder! Thank you to a Wildcat who wears many hats… Ms. Hartman!

Caught Being Awesome November 2025

Ms. Furstenburg at podium.

November’s winner is someone who has been amazing in helping families through the evaluation and IEP process. She is a gem with the students she supports and her kids’ academic improvements reflect her incredible dedication to teaching. Parents are already sad to miss her as they think ahead to their student moving on to high school.

She is the type that leads and takes on multiple leading roles across a variety of groups to help support students and staff and has a positive way of working with students. She encourages students to believe in themselves and encourages growth. This teacher makes students want to learn and provides a comfortable classroom environment. Some parents say this educator has had the biggest impact on their kids’ life than any teacher ever has before.

Let’s give it up to Ms. Furstenberg, Whitman’s own Special Education Teacher.
