8th Grade Students Argosy Cruise June 16 at 9:15 a.m. Field Trip Payment Info

This is an end of the year field trip for 8th Grade students to commemorate their time at middle school, with a fun cruise on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Students will enjoy a 3 hour sail around Elliott Bay with DJ, dancing, and refreshments. Following the cruise there will be and 8th Grade Awards Assembly (for students only) in the School Auditorium.

Event Details

• What: End-of-the-year field trip for the 8th grade class
  • Lunch, dessert, and drinks provided
• Where: Argosy Cruise Elliott Bay (Pier 55)
• When: Tuesday, June 16, 2026
• Time: Buses depart from Whitman at 9:15 a.m., return to Whitman at 1:30 p.m.
  • Following the school field trip on an Argosy Cruise there will be and 8th Grade Assembly (for students only) in the School Auditorium.

Payment Information

• Price: $60 with ASB Card or $65 without ASB Card
• Donations: Donations for scholarships to support students in need are greatly appreciated.

Whitman 8th Graders & Families Don’t Miss!

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony June 16 at 4 p.m.

Event Details

• Date & Time: Tuesday, June 16, 4:00–5:00 p.m.
  • Whitman MS 8th Grade students & families
• Location: Whitman Soccer Field, Track, and Basketball Courts

Structure of the Ceremony

• 8th grade students will be seated on the soccer field, grouped by their 2nd period ROAR classes.
• Each ROAR teacher will call the names of students in their class and present certificates.
• All classes will be recognized simultaneously, with clearly posted signage so families can locate their student’s group.

Family Experience

• Families will be invited to stand around their student’s ROAR class area to capture photos as names are called.
• Once all names have been read, students will take a celebratory final lap around the track.
• Students will then proceed through a balloon arch (another photo opportunity) and up to the basketball courts.

After the Ceremony

• Refreshments will be served on the basketball courts.
• Families are welcome to return to the field afterward to take additional photos, spend time together, and celebrate.
