WMS Food Pantry

The Whitman Food Pantry helps supply food to directly to Whitman students. The pantry is supported by the Ballard Food Bank Weekend Food For Kids program. You can also make direct donations to the food pantry by bringing these items to the front office.

Currently, the Whitman Food Pantry is running low on these items: 

• Shelf stable milk
• Individualize cereal
• Granola Bars
• Meat sticks

The pantry will be open after school on Monday and Wednesday to bring home nightly dinners. It will be open again Thursday after school for students to bring home food for the weekend. The food is meant to feed the individual student, not the family as a whole. We encourage families to utilize the Ballard Food Bank if they are in need of support beyond our students. Pantry Details

• This pantry program works together with food from Ballard Food Bank.
• Students will still bring home a bag of food for the weekend. They will have more choice in what they bring home.
• Students can bring home dinner items during the week if they choose.

Food Donations Needed

The Whitman MS Counselor Leti Bravo and Social Worker Mackenzie Fee are putting together a Food Panty and would like to request some donations from Whitman families to get started.

The donations can be dropped off in the Main Office or the Counseling Office. Please label donations “weekend food” and please ONLY donate items on the list below. The donations are to supplement weekend food provided by the Ballard Food Bank.

• Cup of Noodles (Chicken) / Ramen
• Mac & Cheese Cups

• Cheese sticks

• Meat sticks (jerky)
• Fresh Additions Chicken Breast Bites
• Jif Peanut butter cups
• Meat/Cheese/Nut/Fruit Snack packs

Volunteers Needed for Food Pickup

We are recruiting volunteers to pick up food from the Ballard Food Bank on Wednesday morning between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and deliver it to Whitman Middle School. Please drop off at Whitman after 9:00 a.m. Sign up on the Sign Up Genius site.
