Update! Nov. 18, 2024

Text: Whitman 2024 Annual Giving Campaign Goal 74,000 with thermometer and exclamation points. 60% 40,518

We had a flurry of donations come in last week and have reached 60% of our goal with 26% of Whitman families donating to the Annual Giving Campaign!
Check this “to do item” off your list, make your donation today! Donations support your favorite teachers, librarian, arts program, tutoring, social worker… and so much more! This is the BEST INVESTMENT you can make in our kids’ education.

A few AGC stats as of Nov. 15: We have 20 days left in our Annual Giving Campaign. We have raised 50% of our goal. And to date, 22% of families have donated. We need our community to give today to your capacity to help us reach our goal! This year, gifts have ranged from $15 – $1,000. All gifts are welcome. With 660 students, our goal of $74,000 comes to an average of $113 per student.

We asked families why they donated, and some parents response:

“I gave to Whitman because I want my daughter’s educators to have everything they need to be successful! I’ve also seen how seemingly small things that otherwise wouldn’t be funded have had a huge effect on my daughter’s mood, like the moviemaking club and jazz band. Those are the types of things she’s excited to tell me about at the end of the day and I want all of the kids to have access to those things.” – Laurie, WMS Parent

“In a district so severely underfunded, we try to do what we can. I will never forget my very first PTA meeting over ten years ago when my jaw dropped reading the laundry list of services provided for my kid and their peers that I assumed were covered by the school. …advocacy, curriculum and classroom supplies, mental health supports, translation, supports for families in need, etc. it’s not just the fun and flashy parties and extra curriculars, it’s the basics and if we can help we do – and when we can’t we are grateful for those that jump in both big and small.” – Ali, WMS Parent

Give today and help us provide the support that ALL of our kids need to cover the basics!

Library Funding: A portion of this funding will go to Ms. Johnson to help make the library a home for everyone. She’ll invest $6,000 to bring in popular titles requested by our readers, bring in full series to keep students reading, and bring in books for our book talks and book clubs.

“Series are incredibly popular in middle school and nothing is more satisfying that keeping a reader reading through multiple volumes.” – Ms. Johnson

Give today and help support Ms. Johnson and build the Wildcat Library! Gifts can be made online, via check to the main office, or through gifts of stock. Be sure to check if your employer does matching gifts!

Books on shelf. Text: PTSA has helped us add Twisted Tales, Wings of Fire, Keeper of the Lost Cities and More!

Series are incredibly popular in middle school and nothing is more satisfying that keeping a reader reading through multiple volumes.

Here we go, give big and help us reach our goal! Gifts can be made online, via check sent to the main office, or gifts of stock. If you would like to make an extra big gift and launch a matching gift challenge, email whitmanptsafundraising@gmail.com.

Annual Giving Campaign Kick Off

This year, we have a BIG goal of raising $74,000 to support our students and teachers! Join us in reaching our mini goal of raising $20,000 by Friday, our first week of fundraising. As of Tuesday, we are at $16,500!

The overall fundraising goal comes to an average of $113 per student to help us do amazing things this school year! Our plan is to ask you this Fall to give what you can through the Annual Giving Campaign, and then allow us to focus on granting these funds to teachers and staff to make the magic happen.

Gifts in the past have ranged from $15 – $10,000. We invite you to support our students and teachers and donate to your capacity! Recurring donations are a great way to spread giving over time, and corporate matching can make donations go further. Whitman Middle School PTSA is a non-profit 501c3. Tax ID: 91-1170778

Donate by check: Mail checks payable to the Whitman PTSA to the school or drop off in the office (form in office).

Thank you for donating and supporting Whitman Middle School. Together, we can reach and exceed our fundraising goals. Questions? Email whitmanptsafundraising@gmail.com
