Whitman Multicultural Night in May Can You Help
Help us find performers! Do you know a Whitman family or relations to Whitman who might be interested in participating with offering a performance related to their culture/heritage, such as a dance, etc.? Open to any ideas. Please reach out to Whitman parent Susanne Stauffer at 206-412-4663 with ideas or questions about Multicultural Night. Or contact Principal Houston. Thanks!
Support a Whitman Family in Need
Please visit the SignUpGenius to support a Wildcat family during this challenging time. Meals can be delivered to Leti Bravo in the counseling office anytime during the school day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are no dietary restrictions, food allergies or meal preferences. Student has typical middle school palate.
Snacks/Pantry items that can be made by a middleschooler on their own or grab and go food (cup o’ noodle, bars, crackers, fruit snacks, fruit, etc.) can be brought anyday.
Please reach out directly to our Whitman counseling staff or the PTSA co-presidents with any questions: whitmanptsapresident@gmail.com
Hall Crew Help Needed!

Join Hall Crew! Hall Crew volunteers are a friendly adult presence in the hallways at lunchtime; they encourage our Wildcat students to Be Safe, Be Respectful and to Be Responsible. It is an easy way to get involved and has a huge impact! You pick which day of the week works best for you and whether you volunteer one time a month or every other week. The schedule is set for the entire year – you will work the same day with the same team for the school year! We need 80 volunteers with Hall Crew to help it run smoothly and allow for volunteers to easily miss a shift – more volunteers means an enjoyable experience for all.
The time commitment is 10:55 a.m. – 12:36 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday volunteers are at the school from 10:35 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Please email us at WhitmanPTSAHallCrew@gmail.com to be added to our list of volunteers. There will be an in-person training for all Hall Crew volunteers the end of September.
Together we can be a positive and caring presence to all kids at Whitman! Thank you for helping to make this school year great for all the kids at Whitman!
Volunteers need to be approved to volunteer at Whitman through SPS. Please visit the information posted on the district Volunteering pages
One Time – On Call Volunteer Roles
We need your help in the PTSA with projects big and small! Some roles are done from home only a few hours a year. We are always looking for new volunteers too. Questions? Want more information? Email Shannon Yuen, WMS PTSA Volunteer Coordinator at whitmanptsavolunteer@gmail.com.
Thank You Volunteers!
We want to send a big thank you to all the volunteers who show up day in and day out at Whitman Middle School. Whether you volunteer for helping us remodel the staff lunchroom, with a bake or Spirit Wear sale, our Hallway Crew, Friends of Whitman Music, Performing Arts of Whitman or in the many other ways at our school, we hope you know how much we appreciate you!! All families are welcome to join in the fun! Our school benefits so much from our volunteers!
Thank you to all the volunteers who have stepped up already! We will continue to need school support and hope you’ll evaluate which opportunity fits for you. These opportunities are in the school and require volunteers to be approved by SPS. Review the WMS Step by Step Instructions to become a Volunteer today.
Reminder! All Volunteers must sign in at the Main Office. Questions: Email Shannon Yuen, WMS PTSA Volunteer Coordinator at whitmanptsavolunteer@gmail.com
