8th Grade Promotion
We are seeking 3 or 4 8th grade caregivers to help plan Promotion! Promotion is an end of year celebration for students, teachers, and families. During school students celebrate on an Argosy cruise and have a student only assembly. After school families and students gather and celebrate together. There is lots of room for creativity and fun in the planning process. Reach out to the PTSA President to learn more; whitmanptsapresident@gmail.com
November Activity Day – Volunteer Your Passion!
Whitman is planning an activity day in November (exact date TBD, near Veteran’s Day). We are looking for adults who are willing to share their talents and passions with Whitman students! Do you like painting, crafting, gaming, playing a sport, nature, historical reenactments, or playing table top games? This is the perfect opportunity to share your passions and talents with our Wildcats! Reach out to the PTSA President with your ideas and thank you for helping make Activity Day fun; whitmanptsapresident@gmail.com
Guitars Still Needed
We are still in need of donated guitars! Our newly formed Guitar Club is in need of guitars for students to use during club time. Donated guitars must be in playable condition and acoustic preferred. Reach out to Ms. Gunn; magunn@seattleschools.org if you can help.
Hall Crew Help Needed School Year 2026-27
Hall Crew volunteers come to Whitman during lunchtime once or twice a month to be a friendly adult face in the hall or library to remind students to follow school rules. You will work with the same team on your scheduled day each month, so it’s a nice way to get to know some other parents at the school, as well as the staff. Hall Crew is a great way to feel part of the Whitman community!
Please email us at WhitmanPTSAHallCrew@gmail.com if you are interested and you will receive communications in the fall. Together we are a positive and caring presence to all kids at Whitman!
One Time – On Call Volunteer Roles
We need your help in the PTSA with projects big and small! Some roles are done from home only a few hours a year. We are always looking for new volunteers too. Questions? Want more information? Email Shannon Yuen, WMS PTSA Volunteer Coordinator at whitmanptsavolunteer@gmail.com.
