Volunteers Needed: Staff Lunchroom Remodel

If you can dedicate a few hours to help us get these jobs done, we will be well on our way to improving this space for our incredible teachers and staff! Thank you for considering!

Staff Lounge with 2 tables.

The updates will include new kitchen cabinets, paint and some updates to existing furniture. If you have some home improvement skills and/or a willingness to help us paint the room, sand/stain existing table legs, or build the IKEA kitchen cabinets, we could use the help. This work will be done after school or on specific weekends. Please click on this form to indicate your availability and interests.

We will have other needs…..so if you have skills that might be useful for this project (i.e. plumbing and construction/demolition), please add your name here and let us know how you might be able to support this renovation! Thank you. Contact Jan at whitmanptsapresident@gmail.com if you have additional questions. We think this room has a lot of potential, and hope you can bring your design and organizational skills to help realize that!

This work is being supported by a Local Heroes Grant to the Whitman PTSA by the GESA Credit Union.

Volunteers to Partner with Teachers and Staff

Whitman is looking for 1-2 family volunteers to join the Creative Advantage Grant Committee along with Ms. Dunnett, Ms. Gunn, and Mr. Thomas. The Creative Advantage Grant Committee serves as a bridge to bring the arts into core classes and light the fire of learning. This committee works to connect community arts partners with the teachers at Whitmans so all students can have access to the arts, even if they do not have it as an elective as well as solidify the connections between what students are hearing/learning and how it connects to their life in a fresh and meaningful way. The committee is looking for a family partner who has a passion for art in our school. If you are interested or have questions, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Becky: whitmanptsavolunteer@gmail.com.

Our Whitman MS Black, Brown, and Ethnic Student Union (BBESU) club is being developed by Ms. Debra Deiderichs. We would love to have a family partner with Ms. Debra to help her run this program. If you are interested in this club becoming active, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Becky: whitmanptsavolunteer@gmail.com.
