Keeping Our Students Safe in Our Parking Lot

The safety of our students, families, and staff is our highest priority. We have received concerns about traffic congestion and unsafe driving practices in our school parking lot during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. We ask all families to help us maintain a safe and efficient environment by following these important guidelines:

  • Drive slowly and remain alert. Watch carefully for students and pedestrians crossing the parking lot and driveways.
  • Do not stop in the middle of the parking lot. Please pull into an appropriate parking space or designated drop-off area before allowing students to enter or exit your vehicle.
  • Please don’t park in the two handicap spaces up front. These spaces and their adjacent access areas must remain available for individuals with disabilities.
  • Keep driveways and entrances clear. Do not block traffic, park in driving lanes, or create backups that prevent other vehicles from entering or exiting the parking lot.
  • Do not use the bus loading zone. This area must remain clear to ensure the safe arrival and departure of our school buses.
  • Avoid waiting in the parking lot. If your student is not ready for pick-up, please find an appropriate parking space rather than stopping in a driving lane.
  • Remind students to use caution. Students should look both ways, use designated pedestrian pathways whenever available, and never run between parked or moving vehicles.
  • Consider an alternative drop-off or pick-up location. When possible, arrange to meet your student at a safe location away from the main parking lot to help reduce congestion.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to student safety. A few extra moments of patience and consideration during drop-off and pick-up can make a significant difference in keeping our entire school community safe. Go Wildcats!!!
