Elective Course Selection School Year 2024-25

Current Grade 6 & 7 Students Elective Registration

During Advisory on April 17 Whitman MS ASB students learned about electives. After the short presentation teachers handed out Elective Registration Worksheets and supported 6th & 7th graders on getting started. Students took their worksheets home to complete with their families. Please see below for Online Electives Registration which runs April 18 – 30, 2024.

Math Update 2024-25

• Next year 7th graders will have the choice of taking Math 7 or Math 7/8 Compacted (refer to course descriptions). Please make your choice when you register online. 
• Next year 8th graders can take 2 math classes, Math 8 and Algebra 1 (refer to course descriptions) If you opt to take 2 math classes, you will lose an elective. If you want to add a second math class, please email Assistant Principal, Leanne Dunlap; lmdunlap@seattleschools.org

Students Need to Complete 3 Steps

1. Fill out the Elective Registration Worksheet (handed out in Advisory class) as back-up to primary registration. Refer to the Elective Course Descriptions).
2. Log into their Source Account (student account) and select Class Registration to select electives for the following year.
3. Return Elective Registration Worksheet, signed by parent, to your Advisory teacher.

• All students MUST select Alternate Electives. Placements are not guaranteed because of class sizes, teacher availability and budget constraints.
• Alternates MUST be different from your primary requests. Duplicate requests can cause an error and will delete both the primary and alternative requests.
