    Ecology Youth Corps

    Hiring students between 14-17 to help clean the environment

    Two sessions: July 2-26 2018; and July 30-Aug 23, 2018; Salary: $11.50 per hour

    Application and reference letters must be in April 17, 2018

    Teen Jobs:

    YES: Youth Engaged in Service:  YES is a job readiness and leadership program for teens ages 13-18 that will connect students to a broad range of services.  Students can earn high school service hours and a $150 stipend

    SOS: Summer of Service: for students entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade in fall 2018.  The SOS program will help students make a difference in their community while gaining leadership/work skills.  Upon completion of program, students can earn $150 stipend

    High School Credit:

    Seattle Public Schools Skill Center:   Open to all 8th grade students entering 9th grade in fall of 2018.  This free program provides hands-on classes in real world careers from auto technology to medical careers.  Classes are located at various high schools. Students can earn .5 high school credit.

    Fun Camp Opportunities:

    Summer fun with the Falcons! _ Get active this summer with the SPU Falcons! SPU Athletics Department is excited to announce another full summer of sports camps for athletes of all ages and skill levels. From basketball to volleyball and everything in between., let our skilled coaches and talented players help take your game to the next level!

     

    Assistance League of Seattle: Assistance League of Seattle offers a summer activity scholarship program to all SPS students grades 6-11.   Students can earn a scholarship up to $500 to attend a summer program.   Whitman will offer tutorials on how to complete the essay and application.

    Community Resources:

    Libraries: offers all types of free summer programs for teens.  Programs change every year, past programs included: “make media count”, “tinker lab”

    Gage Art Academy:   Free “Friday Night Teen Art Studio” during the summer

    Summer Movie Express Program:  Regal Thornton Stadium Movie Theater located at Northgate will show family movies during the summer for only $1 on Tuesdays and Wednesday morning starting at 10am

    Teen Tix: Free pass that gets you into movies, dance, theater, music and more for just $5.  It also offers various summer enrichment opportunities.
